Port Royal Speedway- PORT ROYAL, Pa – (May 7, 2023)- Blane Heimbach charged forward from the ninth position to score a popular victory in Weikert’s Livestock 410 Sprint Car competition
Saturday night.

The victory, worth $5300, came over Devon Borden, Jeff Halligan, Steve Buckwalter and Dylan Cisney. It was Heimbach’s 15th career triumph at the Speed Palace, which moved the Selinsgrove Sensation into a three-way tie with Bryan Osgood and John Dubendorf for 22nd on the all-time win list at the Speedway.

Buckwalter and TJ Stutts lined up on the front row for the 25-lap A-main and the two were duking it out for the lead when racing was halted because of a scary four-car incident that saw Mike Wagner get upside down and Mark Smith go out over the guardrail. Bill Jones Jr. and Jake Karklin were involved in the accident as well and all drivers were ok.

When green-flag action returned to the track it was Buckwalter getting the jump coming out of turn two to lead the opening circuit over Stutts and Borden.

By lap three Heimbach had entered the top five and one lap later he used the bottom to move into fourth. Four laps later Buckwalter had caught the tail end of the field, while Stutts and Borden were duking it out for the runner-up spot behind him.

The fight for second became a three-car battle two laps later as Heimbach got by Borden for third. He then dispatched Stutts for the second spot on lap 11 and Borden followed suit to claim the final podium position one lap later.

The second caution of the event flew one lap later for debris in turn’s one and two, which allowed Heimbach to re-start on the tail of Buckwalter. Buckwalter held his ground in turn one and two following a return to racing action, but Heimbach capitalized in turn’s three and four to take the lead coming to the line with 12 laps to go.

Justin Whittall came to a slow on the backstretch the following lap to bring out the event’s final caution with 11 laps remaining. Not to be denied, Heimbach took off with ease on the restart. One lap later Borden ripped the lip of the Speedway to move into the runner-up position, while Halligan moved into fourth with nine to go.

Heimbach hit lapped traffic five laps later and Halligan continued his march to the podium moving into third with three laps to go. However, nobody had anything for Heimbach as he cruised home to victory.

Stutts, Austin Bishop, Logan Wagner, Derek Locke and Michael Walter II rounded out the top ten. Heimbach earned the night’s $500 Valley Supply Hard Charger Award, which brought his haul to a total of $5800 for the night, while 13th-place finisher Lucas Wolfe earned the night’s $1000 J&S Classics Warrior Award via random draw.

Rine and Zeigler lined up on the front row and it was Zeigler getting the early jump on the field to lead lap one over Norris, Rine, Donald Lingo Jr and Eckert.

It only took one lap for Norris to overtake Zeigler for the top spot as he got by for the lead exiting turn four. Eckert cracked the podium on the following lap, though neither he or Zeigler had anything for Norris.

Norris cruised home to the victory and looks to be a threat heading into a big World of Outlaws Late Model Series visit to the track in a few weeks.
