Belleville Babe Ruth defeated Strodes Mills JR Babe Ruth 9-1 on Friday thanks in part to five runs in the sixth inning.

Strodes Mills JR Babe Ruth got on the board in the fourth inning after Regan Varner induced Alden Mosser to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.

Belleville Babe Ruth took the lead in the bottom of the fourth. Eil Henderson singled, scoring two runs, to give Belleville Babe Ruth the leg up, 2-1.

Ezra Beamer started on the bump for Strodes Mills JR Babe Ruth. The right-handed pitcher gave up two hits and two runs (three earned) over three and two-thirds innings, striking out seven and walking two. Jaydon Kauffman led things off on the mound for Belleville Babe Ruth. The righty gave up three hits and one run over three and one-third innings, striking out six and walking three.

Dylan Stahl, Beamer, Mosser, and Kayden Hook each collected one hit for Strodes Mills JR Babe Ruth. Ty Devore paced Strodes Mills JR Babe Ruth with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting six walks for the game.

Henderson provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Belleville Babe Ruth with two runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-2 on the day. Carter Sunderland, Kaden Peachey, Kaiden Yoder, Varner, and Henderson each collected one hit for Belleville Babe Ruth. Ethan Rheam stole three bases. Belleville Babe Ruth ran wild on the base paths, accumulating seven stolen bases for the game. Belleville Babe Ruth turned one double play in the game. Belleville Babe Ruth were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Landon Rhodes had the most chances in the field with 14.
