Big Second Inning Leads Williamsport West End Past Mifflin County 15/16 All Stars

Williamsport West End defeated Mifflin County 15/16’s 8-0 on Friday thanks in part to six runs in the second inning.

Williamsport West End got on the board in the bottom of the second inning after Jaymes Carpenter singled, scoring one run, Nate Crowe singled, scoring one run, Jaxson March singled, scoring one run, Cade Lusk singled, scoring two runs, and LJ Hill grounded out, scoring one run.

Trey Damschroder earned the win for Williamsport West End. The left-handed pitcher allowed one hit and zero runs over seven innings, striking out 11 and walking none. Thad Gerwick took the loss for Mifflin County. The pitcher went four and two-thirds innings, giving up eight runs (seven earned) on 13 hits, striking out four and walking one.

Karl Shirey went 1-for-3 at the plate to lead Mifflin County All Star 16U in hits.

Williamsport West End collected 13 hits in the game. Carpenter went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Williamsport West End in hits. Noah Kirby and Zack Neill each collected multiple hits for Williamsport West End.
