Bellefonte uses seventh inning heroics to top PO

Bellefonte’s Peyton Vancas’ RBI double ends a tie contest in the bottom of the seventh, giving the Raiders a 3-2 thriller over a tough Philipsburg-Osceola team.

Picking up the win for the Red Raiders was Alexander Ebeling as he went 2/3 inning in the seventh.

Derek Fravel pitched 6 1/3 inning before being replaced by Ebeling.

Taking the loss for Philipsburg-Osceola’s Dave Meersand took the loss as he went 6 2/3 innings allowing five hits, three earned runs and three strike outs.

Leading the offensive attack was Vancas with two hits on the night.

Bellefonte finished with five hits on the night while the Mounties finished with four hits while Bellefonte had five.

After a very defensive contest, the game remained scoreless until the bottom of the fifth, when Bellefonte notched one run in the fifth.

Trevor Heckman started out with a walk.

Heckman later scored on a grounder by Dominick Capperella.

They added another in the sixth.

But in their last at bats, the Mounties scrapped their ways to tie things, thanks to RBI single by Parker White.

In the bottom of the seventh, The game was tied at two with Bellefonte Red Raiders batting in the bottom of the seventh when Peyton Vancas doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.
