Bellefonte track and field group looks impressive in home opener

BELLEFONTE –  Saturday, the Bellefonte track and field team held its first home track meet ushering in East Juniata, Selinsgrove and Brookville.

“What a great day for a home meet at Bellefonte!  I cannot thank everyone enough for helping run such a great home meet,” said Bellefonte coach Seth Miller. “Like in most of the meets, the Red Raiders were up to the challenge.”

On the boys side, the Red Raiders started their day with a 2nd place finish in the 4×800 relay with a time of 8:48.90.

Bellefonte Christian Reigh placed 6th with a 20.01 in the 110-meter hurdles. He finished sixth in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 49.30.

In the 100-meter dash Aden Howell finished fifth with a time of 11.78.

Zane Hummel captured a 5th place finish in the 200, placing a time of 22.97.

Tristan Liadis placed a solid fifth in the 400-meter dash with a finishing time of time of 57.94.

Finishing strong in the 800-meter run was Kaiden William’s time of 2:12.18 good for a third place finish.

Williams also was a top finisher in the 1600-meter run with a time of 4:55.19.

Johnathan Gasper placed second in the 3200-meter run with a time of 10:19.95.

Bellefonte finished third in the 4×100, posting a team time of 44.90.

The Red Raiders finished fourth in the 4×400 relay posting a finishing time of 3:48.45.

Noah Washington finished fourth for Bellefonte in the high jump with a best of 5’ 4”.

Matrix Mokluk topped out at 10’ 6” to finish in fourth in the pole vault

Teammate Elisha Martin topped out at fifth in the pole vault with a height of 8’0”.

Zane Hummel took the top spot in the long jump with a leap of 22’11.5”.

Teammate Aden Howell finished third with 19’7.5”.

Hummel also took top honors in the triple jump posting a best jump of 43’1”.

Liam Halterman rounded out the Red Raider boys results, finishing fifth in the javelin with a top heave of 134’2”

On the girls’ side, the Red Raiders took the first in the 4×800-meter relay with a time of 10:05.15

Bellefonte’s Ruthann Smoyer finished in third with a 13.15 in the 100-meter hurdles. Smoyer also placed fourth in the 300-meter hurdles with a finishing time of 55.15.

Jayla Nau finished in the top three in the 100-meter dash placing third with a time of 13.55.

Emma Holsinger placed third in the 400-meter run with a time of 1:11.67.

Bellefonte captured three of the top five spots in the 800-meter run.

Leading the way was Addison Fry with a first place time of 2:23.19 while teammate Natalie Jolley placed third with a time of 2:42.28. Rounding out the Red Raiders top five finishers was Anna Tyson with a fourth place time of 2:42.69.

Jolley also placed fourth in the 1600-meter run with a final time of 5:52.67.

The Lady Raiders posted a solid third place in the 4×100-meter relay, with a time of 54.98.

In the 4×400-meter relay, Bellefonte placed second with a mark of 4:18.59.

In the high jump, Anna Tyson took the top honors for the Lady Raiders with a jump of 4’8” while Holsinger held down the fifth place spot with a 4’4” showing.

Also taking first for Bellefonte was Paige Jodon. Jodon finished with a meet high jump of 7’6”.

Althea Helms nailed the long jump, placing first with a leap of 16’11”. Teammate Madyson Miller placed fourth with a leap of 14’0”.

Bellefonte finished 1-2-3 in the triple jump. Miller took the top honors posting a launch of 30’8.5”. Next up was Helms with a final top jump of 30’5.5”. Rounding out the top three was Alexis Fravel who finished with a 30’0” leap.

Miller also looked strong in the shotput finishing second on a throw of 30’7” while teammate  Victoria Shellenberger posting a fifth place finish of 27’10.5”.

Emma Harter continued the team’s top five finishes as she placed fifth in the discuss with a top throw of 79’8”.
