Bellefonte Red Raiders took the lead late in the game in a 7-3 victory over Bald Eagle Area on Tuesday. The game was tied at two with Bellefonte Red Raiders batting in the bottom of the fifth when Alexander Ebeling singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
In the second inning, Bellefonte Red Raiders (Varsity)got their offense started when Kenny Squires singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
Dominic Capperella earned the victory on the hill for Bellefonte Red Raiders. The southpaw surrendered three runs on five hits over six innings, striking out four. Trevor Johnson threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Westin McClain took the loss for Bald Eagle Area. The hurler went four and two-thirds innings, allowing seven runs on ten hits, striking out two and walking one.
Bellefonte Red Raiders tallied 12 hits in the game. Squires, Ebeling, Triston Heckman, Derek Fravel, and Josh Brown all had multiple hits for Bellefonte Red Raiders. Ebeling and Squireseach collected three hits to lead Bellefonte Red Raiders.
Bald Eagle Area totaled six hits. Ryan Kresovich and Alex Gavlock each managed multiple hits for Bald Eagle Area. Bald Eagle Area didn’t commit a single error in the field. Cameron Watkins had the most chances in the field with five.
