The Bellefonte Lady Raiders defeated
Huntingdon 1-0 on Tuesday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at zero in the bottom of the sixth when Taylor Brown hit a solo home run to left field.
Both teams were strong in the circle.
Bellefonte pitchers struck out 14, while the Huntingdon Bearcats sat down 10.
Adrienne Masullo stepped in the circle first for the Lady Raiders. The hurler allowed three hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out eight and walking three.
Alivia Nicklow stepped in the circle first for the Bearcats. The hurler allowed five hits and one run over six innings, striking out 10 and walking one. Abby Herr threw three innings of shutout ball for Bellefonte in relief. The pitcher surrendered zero hits, striking out six and walking none.
Brown went 2-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in.
Julia Foster set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading the Bearcats with two hits in four at bats. Huntingdon were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Izadore Kazmarski made the most plays with 10.
Bellefonte Varsity will travel to Forest Hills Varsity Rangers for their next game on Friday.
