Bellefonte makes 13 a lucky number, tops DuBois 13-0

The Bellefonte baseball team defeated DuBois 13-0 on Wednesday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Peyton Vancas struck out Clark to finish off the game.

Trevor Johnson led the Red Raiders to victory by driving in four runs. Johnson went 3-for-4 at the plate. Johnson drove in runs on a double in the first and a triple in the fourth.

In the first inning, Bellefonte got its offense started when Vancas singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Vancas earned the win for the Red Raiders. The pitcher surrendered zero runs on two hits over three innings, striking out four.

Alexander Ebeling started the game for Bellefonte. The lefty surrendered zero runs on two hits over two innings, striking out three and walking one

The Red Raiders socked one home run on the day. Braedyn Kormanic went deep in the fifth inning.

Bellefonte racked up 14 hits. Johnson, Vancas, Josh Brown, and Dominic Capperella each collected multiple hits for the Red Raiders. Vancas and Johnson each collected three hits to lead Bellefonte. The Red Raiders didn’t commit a single error in the field. Kormanic had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.
