Bellefonte Lady Raiders Triumph Over Glendale Vikings Softball

Bellefonte took down Glendale Vikings Softball 7-2 on Thursday.

The Lady Raiders opened the scoring in the first after Riley Santostefano singled, scoring two runs.

Bellefonte extended their early lead with two runs in the top of the second thanks to RBI walks by Jaylee Lose and Ragan Manning.

The Lady Raiders added one run in the third. Sadie Ripka singled down the right field line, making the score 5-0.

Ava Weld homered to center field, scoring two runs in the bottom of the fourth for the Glendale Vikings.

Alaina Smith led things off in the circle for Bellefonte. The starting pitcher surrendered three hits and two runs over four innings, striking out five and walking one. Madison Peterson opened the game for Glendale . The right-handed pitcher surrendered seven hits and seven runs (one earned) over six innings, striking out 11 and walking eight. Abby Herr pitched two and two-thirds innings of scoreless ball for Bellefonte in relief. The reliever surrendered one hit, striking out six and walking one.

Santostefano led the Lady Raiders with two runs batted in. The outfielder went 2-for-4 on the day. Smith paced Bellefonte with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting 10 walks for the game. Sloan Moore stole two bases.

Weld drove the middle of the lineup, leading the Vikings with two runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Glendale turned one double play in the game.

Bellefonte will travel to Bishop Guilfoyle for their next game on Monday.
