The Bellefonte Lady Raiders couldn’t keep up with Blackhawk Cougars and fell 9-3 on Monday.
Blackhawk got on the board in the top of the third inning after the Lady Raiders committed an error, and Brynn Hysong singled down the left field line, each scoring two runs.
Adrienne Masullo stepped in the circle first for the Lady Raiders. The hurler surrendered seven hits and five runs (zero earned) over four innings, striking out five and walking three. Kylie Prisuta stepped in the circle first for Blackhawk. The starting pitcher allowed five hits and two runs over six innings, striking out 11 and walking one.
Sloan Moore, the Lady Raiders’ number nine hitter, led the team with three hits in three at-bats. Taylor Brown, Sadie Ripka, and Jaylee Lose each drove in one run for Bellefonte. The Lady Raiders turned one double play in the game.
Hysong, the number eight hitter for Blackhawk , led the way with three runs batted in. The shortstop went 1-for-2 on the day. Keira Rodu and Addy Ramer each collected two hits for the Cougars. Hysong paced Blackhawk with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, piling up eight walks for the game. The Cougars were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Mia Yenges had the most chances in the field with 10.
