Bellefonte, East Juniata display track talents in Dual meet Saturday

BELLEFONTE – On Saturday, the Bellefonte track and field team hosted East Juniata and Selinsgrove in a dual meet.

The Red Raiders would take their contest against East Juniata in both boys and girls action while the Seals were a perfect 4-0 on the afternoon.

In girls action, the Red Raiders finished first in the 4×800-meter relay, posting a time of 10:47.77.

East Juniata came in third with a time of 13:10.52.

Victoria Shellenberger placed second (14.11) in the very large group of runners in the 100-meter run while East Juniata’s Jazlynn Sheaffer (14.48) finished fifth.

Ruthann Smoyer finished fourth in the 300-meter hurdles with mark of 56.12.

Schellenberger  shined in the pole vault placing second with a launch of 7’9”.

She also was strong in the javelin with a top throw of 107’ 2”.

East Juniata was paced in the javelin by Cadee Becker who placed fourth with a toss of 90’9”.

Sheaffer also finished in the 300 hurdles with a time of 56.88.

In the 1600-meter run, Bellefonte finished third when Katie Rarrick crossed the finish line with a time of 6:09.32.

Bellefonte finished second in the 4×100-meter relay with a time of 58.10.

In the 400-meter, Bellefonte’s Annie Cernuska placed third with a time of 1:08.92.

Placing eighth was the Tigers Lily Goodling with a time of 1.16.28.

In the 800-meter run, Bellefonte’s Alyssa Hopkins finished in second place with a finishing time of 2.41.88.

East Juniata’s Carolyn Dressler led the Tigers with a time of 3.02.99.

Madyson Miller finished second in the 200-meter run with a mark of 29.84. East Juniata’s Cadee Becker finished fourth with a time of 30.10.

In the grueling 3200-meter run,  2 LIADIS, Emma Lladis placed second for Bellefonte  with a time of 14:05.12.

Placing third was East Juniata’s  Makaylyn Peters finishing with a time of 14:45.24.

In the 4×400 relay, the Red Raiders finished in second with a time of 4:36.86. East Juniata finished fourth with a time of 5:24.14

In the long jump, Red Raiders looked to Miller once again, finishing second with a third place leap of 14’ 8”. East Juniata finished in fifth when Sheaffer finished with a launch of 14’4”.

Miller also shined in the shot put posting a second-place throw of 28’ 81/2”.

Josie Underwood paced the Red Raiders in the triple jump finishing with a top jump of 31’ 11 1/2”.

Naomi Leitzel led the Tigers with a fifth place jump of 28’ 2 1/2”.

Anna Tyson’s jump of 4’4” was good enough for a second place finish in the high jump.

Gabriella Deitrich was tops in the girls discus launching a throw of 91’9”.

The Bellefonte boys opened their day with a second d place finish in the 4×800 with a mark of 8:44.18.

East Juniata finished in third with a 10:21.00.

The Tigers got a first place finish by Josef Book in the 110-hurdles with a time of 15.4.

Book was also dominating in the 300 hurdles hitting the top spot with a time of 40.68.

Trey Wagner paced the Red Raiders with a sixth place finish time of 48.35.

East Juniata also got third and fourth place finishes from David Hart and Wrett Smith with times of 18.52 and 19.48, respectively.

Collin Sharp finished second in the 100-meter dash. Sharp finished with a time of 11.70.

Alexander Crist muscled out the first place finish in the 1600-meter placing a time of 4:34.39.

Crist also took the top spot in the 800, posting a first place time of 2:02.80. East Juniata was led by Christian Meter’s time of 2:37.97.

Bellefonte and East Juniata finished second and third in the 4×100 relay with times of 46.77 and 52.84, respectively.

Grady Garrison led the Red Raiders in the 400 placing second with a time of 55.29.

Christian Meter paced the Tigers with a time of 1:02.04.

Collin Sharpe finished strong in the 200, finishing with a second place time of 23.56 while East Juniata’s Davis Hart placed sixth with a time of 24.76.

Chase Ebeling finished strong in the 3200 finishing in the top spot with a time of 10:14.54.

Bellefonte also took second in the 4×400 relay, posting a time of 3:37.54 while East Juniata finished sixth with a time of 4:38.30.

Zane Hummel put another win in the Bellefonte column placing first in the long jump with a leap of 20’31/2”. The Tigers got a second place finish from Dontae Martin with a jump of 19’ 1 1/2”.

Hummel also took first in the triple jump with a best jump of 40’ 7” while Martin placed third with a leap of 39’ 4”.

Martin took second in the high jump, finishing with a mark of 5’ 6” while teammate Ayden Dowling was right behind placing third with a jump of 5’ 4”.

Bellefonte got a fifth place by jump of 5’ 2”.

In the pole vault, Kieth Eicholtz took top honors with a jump of 9’9”.

The Tigers picked up a second place finish in the shot put as Kory Graham took third with a throw of 40’8”.

In fourth, the Red Raiders got a top throw of 39’ 71/2” from Logan Proctor.

East Juniata thrower Jake Brackbill finished third in the discus throwing a team best throw of 130’ 9”.

The Tigers were strong in the javelin placing three in the top four spots.

Brackbill led the way with a top throw of 149’2”.

Teammate Nate Freed placed third with a throw of 141’ 7”.

Rounding out the East Juniata throwers was Ashton Imes who finished in fourth with a throw of 140’ 3”.

Bellefonte’s Proctor rounded out the top five finishing with a personal day best of 129’
