The first race Bellefonte had in action on Saturday was the girls 2A race. Two of the girls earned their ticket to Hershey with Addison Fry and Natalie Jolley’s performances. Addison placed 5th in the district with a time of 20:17 earning her spot at states. Natalie placed 11th with a time of 20:56 punching her ticket to Hershey. Both were recognized at the awards podium for their race finishes in class 2A. The rest of the girls 3rd place team performances came with Sophomore Emma Burger placing 18th (23:06). Senior Alexis Fravel placed 40th (25:37), Junior Anna Tyson 25:55 with a 43rd place finish and Senior Ruthann Smoyer placed 45th (26:26). Great job team!

Central Cambria won the girls race with 23 points. Marion Center placed 2nd with 70 points and our Bellefonte team placed 3rd with 110 points.
The boys team ran right after the girls 2A race concluded. Our boys did what they did all season earning them a team finishing position of 3rd place in boys 2A at District 6. In doing so, our boys earned 3 top 10 place finishes in the districts! Kaiden Williams placed 4th overall with a time of 16:47. This secured Williams with a trip to Hershey this coming weekend. Going along with Kaiden to states is Maverick Muchmore with his 6th place finish. Muchmore ran a time of 16:55. Freshman Jonathan Gasper missed the state mark by two spots but ran to a 10th place finish earning himself district honors in class 2A. Gapser’s time was 17:12. Junior Elijah Davis ran a 19:19 with a 32nd place finish with his best race of the year. Freshman Kaiden Musser had an incredible race for himself with a 23:44 and 63rd place finish. Junior Phoenix Torres also had a personal best running a 25:22. Great job Boys!
Junita won class 2A with a score of 40 points, just one point over runner up Central Cambria with 41 points. Bellefonte boys placed 3rd with 107 points.
It will be exciting to watch our state qualifiers Addison Fry, Natalie Jolley, Kaiden Williams and Maverick Muchmore all compete at this coming weekend’s PIAA Cross Country State Championships!
