MIFFLINTOWN – Centre County met Juniata County Monday, when the Bellefonte boys soccer team traveled to Juniata in non-league action.

The day belonged the the Red Raiders as they defeated the Indians 2-0.

Bellefonte led in shots on goals by a 13-8 margin.

“We played a really solid first half. We had a lot of good shots and good looks. Juniata’s two middle defenders played really well and saved them a few goals. They made our guys up front work for everything they got,” said  Bellefonte coach Scott Martz. “In the second half, we played more defensive and juniata took us out of our passing game. Overall it was a good quality win for our boys.”

In the first half, Brady Wertz scored after catching a pass from Jeremiah Ondrasic at 25:20.

“At the high school level, soccer is an 80 minute game and requires focus and drive for the entire 80 minutes and not 60 minutes,” said Juniata coach Jared Byler “This is a game that we must learn from and make immediate changes in our mindset and attitude towards how we approach and prepare for a game.”

Minutes later, Noah Gadsby found the net on an unassisted blast at 21:12.
