Bellefonte bats come out in strong victory over Clearfield

CLEARFIELD – Rolling right along through their opponents!

The Bellefonte baseball team has continued its impressive winning streak Thursday as they were able to  lean on its surging offense defeating Clearfield 12-5.

Offensively, the Red Raiders were led by Alex Ebeling who finished with a 3-for-4 night at the plate, finishing with an RBI and two runs scored.

Teammates Braedyn Kormanic, Derek Fravel and Dominic Capperella all finished with two hits each. Capperella highlighted the day with a home run.

Triston Heckman led the way for Bellefonte with four RBIs.

When the dust settled, the Red Raiders pounded out 12 hits.

Picking up the win for Bellefonte was Peyton Vancas as he went 5 2/3 innings allowing just four hits and three runs while striking out five.

Bellefonte led off the game with three in the first.

Clearfield scored three runs in the first inning, but Bellefonte Red Raiders (Varsity) still managed to pull out the victory. Clearfield scored its runs on a home run by Blake Prestash.

Clearfield tied the game up at three in the bottom of the first inning, when  Blake Prestash homered scoring all three runs.

However, the fiesty Red Raiders pulled away for good with one run in the second inning.

Ebeling picked up an RBI single on a, scoring the lone run.

The game was put on ice in the sixth when Bellefonte Red Raiders six runs. Fravel, Trevor Johnson, Heckman, and Capperella all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Blake Prestash took the loss for Clearfield. The hurler went five innings, allowing five runs on five hits.
