The Bald Eagle Area Boys Basketball team and Philipsburg – Osceola squad renewed acquaintances Thursday night in what would be a nail biting contest.
Both teams looking for their first win of the season.
When the final buzzer sounded it would be the Eagles that muscled their way to a 44-43 victory.
Leading the offense for the Eagles was James Cowan who sizzled with a 21-point effort.
Teammate Luke Hosband finished with 10 in the victory.
Nick DeSimone led the Mounties with a 13-point output while Lucas Peterson finished with 10.
In the first quarter, Philipsburg-Osceola took the quarter scoring by a 15-11 margin.
DeSimone and Peterson both had a 5-point effort.
In the second, both defenses took charge while the Eagles led 9-8 in the second.
With the teams going into the intermission, the Mounties led 24-19.
Bald Eagle would make their run in the second half.
Bald Eagle rallied in the third and fourth, outscoring the Mounties 20-14 en route to the victory.
