Maelee Yoder collected three hits in three at bats, as the Bald Eagle Area Eagles softball team defeated Hollidaysburg 11-1 on Tuesday. Yoder singled in the first inning, doubled in the third inning, and singled in the fourth inning.
Yoder, Casey Angellotti, and Raelee Repasky at the bottom of the Eagles’s lineup combined for four of the team’s six hits in their victory. They scored two runs and drove in three.
Bald Eagle got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Alexa Baney walked, Sierra Albright walked, and Yoder singled, each scoring one run.
Bald Eagle Area Varsity Eagles added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Addisyn Burns hit into a fielder’s choice, and Sydney Thompson singled, each scoring one run.
Bald Eagle Area Varsity Eagles added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Angellotti doubled, and Taylor Habovick singled, each scoring one run.
Albright earned the win for Bald the Eagles. The starting pitcher gave up two hits and one run over five innings, striking out 12 and walking five.
Thompson paced Bald Eagle Area Varsity Eagles with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, tallying six walks for the game.
Grace Muriceak and Maggie Hicks each collected one hit for Hollidaysburg. Muriceak went 1-for-1 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Hollidaysburg had patience at the plate, tallying five walks for the game.
Muriceak and Mikaylah Vincent led the team with two free passes each.
