Kahale Burns collected three hits in four at bats, as Bald Eagle Area defeated West Branch 13-3 on Wednesday. Burns doubled in the fifth inning, singled in the fourth inning, and singled in the third inning.
The Warriors got on the board in the top of the first inning after the Eagles committed an error, and Brody Rothrock tripled, each scoring one run.
Bald Eagle Area flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the third, scoring five runs on five hits to take a 5-2 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Tayten Yoder that drove in two.
Westin McClain earned the win for the Eagles. The starting pitcher allowed five hits and three runs (two earned) over six innings, striking out six and walking one. Luke Liptak took the loss for West Branch. They went three and one-third innings, giving up eight runs on eight hits, striking out two and walking one.
Bald Eagle Area collected 15 hits in the game. Carson Nagle provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led the Eagles with four runs batted in. The infielder went 2-for-3 on the day. Burns, Gavin Burns, and Camron Watkins each collected three hits for Bald Eagle Area. Yoder collected two hits for the Eagles in three at bats. Burns stole two bases.
Lukas Colton and Rothrock each collected two hits for West the Warriors. Colton, Rothrock, and Liptak each drove in one run for West Branch Varsity Warriors.
