Bald Eagle captures D6 crown against a tough PO squad in D6 championship

The bottom of the lineup helped Bald Eagle capture an 8-0 victory over Philipsburg-Osceola on Thursday at Claysburg-Kimmel High School. Kendall Gavlock, Taylor Habovick, and Sierra Albright combined for four of the team’s eight hits in the victory. They scored two runs and drove in two.

The Lady Eagles scored five runs in the second inning on the way to victory.  an error scored one run, Habovick singled, scoring one run, Gavlock singled, scoring one run, and Addisyn Burns drew a walk, scoring one run.

Albright earned the win for Bald Eagle. The hurler surrendered three hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out five and walking two. Alivia Bizzarri took the loss for Philipsburg-Osceola. The pitcher went six innings, giving up eight runs (five earned) on eight hits, striking out nine and walking three.

Gavlock, the Lady Eagles’s number nine hitter, led the team with three hits in three at-bats. Burns went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Raelee Repasky collected two hits for Bald Eagle Area  in three at bats. Bald Eagle Area Varsity Eagles turned one double play in the game. Bald Eagle Area didn’t commit a single error in the field. Kailey Eckert had the most chances in the field with five.

Bizzarri, Macie Bush, and Ashlyn Havens each collected one hit for Philipsburg-Osceola.
