Bald Eagle Area Lady Eagles Defeat Central Behind Strong Performance From Sierra Albright

Sierra Albright struck out 12 batters as the hurler led Bald Eagle Area past Central 7-1 on Tuesday. Albright gave up two hits and one run over seven innings while walking none.

A double by Addisyn Burns following a 8-pitch at-bat put the Eagles on the board in the bottom of the first.

Bald Eagle Area added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Kailey Eckert singled , Alexa Baney doubled to center field, and Sydney Thompson grounded out, each scoring one run.

The Lady Eagles scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth on a home run to center field by Taylor Habovick on an 0-2 count.

Kailyn Gahagan took the loss for Central. The pitcher went three innings, giving up four runs on six hits, striking out one and walking none.

Bald Eagle amassed 10 hits in the game. Habovick led Bald Eagle Area Varsity Eagles with two runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The outfielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Eckert, Baney, and Albright each collected two hits for the Lady Eagles.

Gahagan and Kaylee Kensinger each collected one hit for Central. Gahagan went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. The Lady Dragons turned one double play in the game.

Next up for Bald Eagle is a game at Somerset, PA on Wednesday.
