Altoona 15U Captures Lead Early to Defeat Mifflin County

The Mifflin Co 15u All-Stars fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 3-0 loss to Altoona on Sunday. Altoona took the lead on a double in the second inning.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Altoona pitchers struck out five, while Mifflin County sat down three.

Altoona opened up scoring in the second inning, when Cayden Gibbons doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

A single by Aidan Arnold in the first inning was a positive for Mifflin County.

EJ Ulery pitched to victory. The lefthander lasted three innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out three. Paul Wedel threw four innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Aiden Attivo took the loss for Mifflin County . Attivo lasted five innings, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out two and walking one.

Arnold went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Mifflin County in hits.

Altoona didn’t commit a single error in the field. Dontae Emerick had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.
