Over the weekend the MIfflin County wrestlers traveled to compete in the Ultimate Warrior Tournament.
The Huskies let their mark on this years competition having numerous wrestlers finish in the top five.
107-pounder Andrew Alexander took the top honors, placing in first. Alexander started his first match with a DNP.
In the second round, Alexander dominated picking up a tech fall over Caleb Ayala of Garnet Valley 20-4 at 3:57.
Things continued to roll for Alexander as he notched a pinfall over Carson Hallock from Bradford at 1:24.
In the Quarterfinals, Alexander notched a major decision over Collin Furgeson of Port Allegany 15-1.
Alexander muscled out another win in the Semifinals when he won over Western Slingland from Wilson Area 8-0.
In the 1st Place Match – Alexander beat Harris Keares Central York 4-1.
At 121, got an easy start as MIfflin County’s Paxton Shawver DNP.
Shawver finished with a 15-0 tech fall over Levi Link of Cambria Heights at 1:15.
Shawver continued his winning ways winning over Curtis Maynard of Towanda 8-5.
In the Quarterfinals Reynolds’ Waylon Waite pinned Paxton Shawver 0:21.
127: Layten Bowersox represented the Huskies at 127- pounds as he started with a DNP.
Bowersox took home a 8-0 major decision over Mario Casilio of Johnsonburg.
However, Central Mountain’s Aiden Kunes won by pinfall over Bowersox at 3:22.

In his next match of the day Bowersox won over Caiden Gray of Southern Columbia by a 10-5 decision.
Indiana ‘s Carter Putt topped Layten Bowersox in an 11-3 major decision.
Participating at 133, Jake Knable started with a DNP.
Knable started out strong with a pinfall over Christian Torres-Ochoa of Wilson Area by Fall at 3:13.
In the next round Hughesville’s Chase Shaner tripped up Knable with an 8-2 decision.
Knable rebounded as he muscled out a 7-5 decision over Grayson Aaron of Central Clarion.
Knable pinned his next opponent with the win over Jacob Dadario Garnet Valley at 1:33.
In his final match, Towanda’s Gage Evans win in sudden victory over Knable SV-1 3-0.
At 139, Kamden Everly had DNP to start.
Everly continued with a tech fall over Sean Parks of Indiana 21-6 at 3:08.
Everly followed up with 12-3 Major decision over Travis Coriaty 12-3.
Everly picked up another major decision over Mount Union’s Jacik Hess 12-0.
Everly picked up a pinfall over Cole Patrick of Wyalusing Valley at 2:55.
Collin Ramsay of Pen Argyl followed with a tech fall over Everly 15-0 at 2:54.
In Quarterfinals, Bald Eagle Area’s Dawson Lomison topped Everly by a 4-1 decision.
In the 5th place consolations Central Clarion’s Logan Powell squeaked by with a 1-0 win over Everly.
Battling at 152 was Colby Seiler.
Seiler won his first match over Alden Furgeson Port Allegany by a major decision 12-4.
Southern Columbia’s Brayden Andrews narrowly picked up a win over Seiler SV-1 8-5.
In his next match, Seiler rebounded with a tech fall win over Tyrone’s Mason VanAllman 17-1 at 1:19.
Seiler then proceeded to grind out a 7-2 decision over Jonathan Earle of Wyalusing Valley.
Seiler saw his day come to an end when Johnsonburg’s Rocco Allegretto topped Seiler 7-2.
Brayan Aurand (wrestled at 160 for the Huskies.
In his first match against Micah Atherton of Mount Union Aurand lost by a 19-4 tech fall at 2:49.
In his next match, Aurand pinned Noah Filipovich of Marion Center at 4:56.
Aurand won by pinfall over Blake Kennedy of Hollidaysburg at 3:01. Aurand topped Juniata’s Zack Dick 7-0.
Rounding out his day, Aurand lost to Hughesville’s Mason Mordan by fall at 0:52.
172-pounder Reese Christine finished fifth on the night.
In his first match, Christine rolled by a pinfall over Peter’s Twp. Parker Nave at 4:04.
Christine notched pinfall number two as he pinned Wyatt Panarello of Garnet Valley at 2:37.
Christine pinned a win over Kyler Suhoney of Tyrone with a fall at 1:08.
Moshannon Valley’s Rocco Reifer won a close contest over Christine 3-1
In the Quarterfinals, Kaleb Kinzey of Armstrong won by DQ over Christine.
Christine fought his way back in the consolations for firth as Christine took the match 11-0 over (Mifflin Dominic Fanella of Indiana.
At 189, Avery Aurand notched a DNP.
Aurand started his competition with a 21-6 tech fall win over PO’s Conner Eichenlaub at 1:50.
Aurand followed up with another tech fall this time over Nuallan King of Pen Argyl 19-3 at 2:16.
Aurand won by pinfall over Jacob Henry of Central Clarion at 1:00.

Ferry’s Brady Brown picked up a win over Aurand.
In the Quarterfinals Port Allegany’s Aiden Bliss won by pinfall over Aurand at 5:31.
215-pounder Alonso Torres started with a DNP.
Moshannon’s Tyler Lobb pinned Alonso Torres at 0:34.
Torres bounced back into the win column picking up a pin over Aydin Feroz of Garnet Valley at 2:35.
Torres with another pin this time over Evan Brown of Sullivan County at 0:40.
In his last match, Westmont Hilltop’s Connor Ward picked the pinfall over Torres at 1:30.
Rounding out the Huskies finishes at 285, Peyton Kearns picked up a third place finish. In the opening round, Kearns DNP.
Kearns defeated Juniata’s Kelton Bonnell by a tech fall 24-8 at 5:37.
Onto the next round, Kearns over Gage Gardner of Bald Eagle by a 6-2 decision.
Kearns followed with a 10-1 Major decision over Ryvan Audi of Richland 10-1.
In the Semifinals Towanda’s Mason Higley escaped with 3-0 decision over Kearns.
In the third place consolations for third Kearns rebounded to earn a hard fought 2-0 decision over Philup Rearick of Armstrong High School.
