Addisyn Burns A Difficult Out As Bald Eagle Area Eagles Defeat Williams Valley

Addisyn Burns collected three hits in four at bats, as Bald Eagle Area  defeated Williams Valley  13-2 on Thursday. Burns doubled in the sixth inning, tripled in the fifth inning, and singled in the seventh inning.

Sierra Albright struck out 10 batters on the day. The right-handed pitcher also surrendered eight hits and two runs over seven innings while walking none.

The Lady Eagles opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two singles. Bald Eagle first got on the board when Sydney Thompson singled, scoring one run.

The Lady Eagles added three more runs in the top of the fourth inning on three hits. Ava Stere hit a solo home run to left field, and Alyssa King doubled, scoring two runs.

Olivia Hand took the loss for the Vikings. The reliever went one and two-thirds innings, giving up three runs on five hits, striking out none and walking one. Sage Smeltz started in the circle for Williams Valley. The starting pitcher gave up 13 hits and 10 runs (nine earned) over five and one-third innings, striking out four and walking one.

Bald Eagle Area collected 18 hits in the game. Kailey Eckert, Burns, and Thompson each collected three hits. King collected two hits for the Eagles in four at bats.

Sophia Mione and Hand each collected two hits for Williams Valley . Quin Smeltz and Ella Kobularik each drove in one run for the Vikings.
