BELLEFONTE – It’s our turn.

Tuesday night, the Bellefonte girls basketball team hosted rival Bald Eagle Area.

Much like the boys game the day before, the game would be a close contest.

In the end, the Lady Eagles would come out with a 46-42 victory.

Abby Hoover led Bald Eagle Area with a 17-point effort.

Bellefonte High Scorers for the night were Maria Cotter with 15, Keira Whitman posted 11 and Madison Ripka with 10.

“As always, it is a tightly contested game with Bald Eagle. The girls played their hearts out in this game,” said Bellefonte coach Marcus Toomer. “They played well together and stayed supportive throughout the game. You obviously don’t want to lose the game but the girls can be proud of the effort they put forth and that will lead to wins in the near future.”

Bellefonte outscored the Eagles in the first half, posting a 22-18 advantage.

However, the Eagles were able to get hot late, outscoring Bellefonte 28-20 in the second half.
