HERSHEY – Junior Selena Mayall-Marker and freshman Ella Zimmerman competed in the girls AA race. Selena placed 171st with a time of 28:03.5. Ella placed 179th with a time of 28:38.9. “I thought Selena and Ella ran well on the Hershey course considering it was their first time on this difficult course. Selena has been impressing me with making sure she gets a good enough warmup and cool down before and after races. It’s part of the sport and shows a coach how committed a runner is to get better.” Juniata Coach Jeff Miller said.
In the boys AA race, sophomore Josiah Barner led the Indians with a 104th place finish in a time of 19:30. Shortly after senior Kade Wagner came in with a time of 19:50.8 good enough for 121st place. Junior Coy Kerstetter was’t far back in 129th place in a time of 19:55.9. Sophomore David Mayall-Marker placed 149th with a time of 20:27.2. Junior Joel Hardin rounded out the scoring for the Indians with a 169th place finish in a time of 20:59.1. Freshman Luke Weiand placed 213th with a time of 23:01.5. Sophomore John Randolph placed 238th with a time of 26:08.9. Juniata Coach Jeff Miller said “Overall I thought the boys ran well on this very difficult course. David and Joel shaved several minutes off their time from last year on this course. John and Luke gained some experience today running this course for the very first time. I’ve had some really good runners take 3 or 4 times on this course to figure out how to race it.”
