Mifflin County blows out James Buchanan in road contest
Sep 17, 2025

Taking to the road Wednesday, the MIfflin County boys soccer team traveled to James Buchanan and came back with a 6-0 Win.

“This was a full and complete match played by our entire squad and that makes our staff very happy,” said Mifflin County coach Todd Peters. “We are very proud of the effort with every player that got minutes tonight. Our adapting to progressing wet field conditions as the night went on was something we did well.

Eight minutes into the first half, Jace Bagrosky flicked a throw into the path of a sprinting Zach Keller who finished for 1-0.

Bagrosky then found Brayden Benfer with a ball slipped through with 18:32 left to make it 2-0. Mifflin County scored one more before half with Keller finding Mason Allen to end the first half scoring with 15:33left.

“At half we challenged the boys to continue their same aggressive intensity and they did.

2:30 minutes into the second half  Bruce Baker applied pressure that forced an own goal. Bagrosky then tallied his 3rd service assist of the night with now a dangerous corner that Kayden Hook worked for and then finished with 19:15 left. With 12 minutes left the Huskies  made a keeper switch to get our backup, Danny Quinn some minutes but also to reward our Superman Jack Suydam from the pipes with some field minutes. Jack immediately worked the outside forward spot and floated a perfectly placed ball to where Brody Basom came through and thundered home our sixth and final of the night with 9:25 left.

“We are so proud the boys still battled all night and wanted the clean sheet shutout as well,” said Peters.

Mifflin County outshot James Buchanan 15-5 and took care of the corner opportunities 7-3.

Jack Suydam had four saves on the night. Danny Quinn had one save.

“We will certainly use this as momentum as we will continue to practice hard the next two days and then welcome Central Mountain to Kish Bank Field on Saturday,” said Peters.
