The Bellefonte boys soccer team met up with Central Tuesday in a Laurel Highlands showdown.
Like they have most of the season, the Red Raiders dominated the contest winning 5-1.
We came out very slow struggling to move the ball. Give central credit they did a good job defensively not giving up good shots,” said Bellefonte coach Scott Martz. “We managed to get 2 before half. Halftime talk was a challenge to the guys to step up win 50/50 balls and hustle. They did that and were able to start to control the game.”
Bellefonte started the scoring as
Gage Rankin scored assist from Connelle Stabinger at 34:17.
The Red Raiders scored again at 37:10 when Stabinger scored this time off an assist from Jamin Ondrasik.
The scoring continued into the 2nd half.
At 42:18, Cameron Ballas jumped into the scoring column on another’s assist by Stabinger.
Bellefonte scored again at 58:18 on a John Servant goal.
Central got its lone goal at 74:14 on a Jacob Houston goal.
Bellefonte ended the game scoring at 76:06 on a Keegan Timblin goal.
Bellefonte outshot Central 17-4.
“We were able to get scoring from multiple players and got playing time to everyone,” said Martz.
