Huskies field hockey squad falls to Northern

Final Score: Mifflin County – 2 Northern York – 5

The Mifflin County Field Hockey team traveled to Dillsburg for a Mid Penn conference game against the Northern York Polar Bears. After several opportunities to score during limited breakaways, the Huskies were unable to make a comeback to the Polar Bears. 

The Polar Bears scored early on in the first quarter to take the lead. The Huskies kept them from scoring any other goals for the remainder of the first half of the game. During the second half of the game, The Polar Bears kicked it into gear and began scoring several goals on the Huskies. Most of the Polar Bear goals were scored on heavily loaded offense corners. The Huskies tried to catch up but failed to earn many penalty corners. On the Huskies last offensive corner of the game, they were finally able to earn their first goal. Jayda Kanagy offered a pass to Brynn Rowe to get the Huskies on the scoreboard. The next goal for the Huskies was made by a breakaway from a defensive penalty corner. Bailey Neff took advantage of the limited defense and knocked one more in the goal. Aubree Dobson helped her defense again by earning another defensive save.

The Huskies JV team won 3-2 with 11 seconds left in the game. The goal scorers were Khloe Stitt with 1 goal, and Maddie Clark with 2 goals.
