Lady Huskies XC team finishes 15th at Spiked Shoe Invite
Sep 12, 2025

The Mifflin County Cross Country Lady Huskies ran in the State College Spiked Shoe Invitational on Friday, September 12. Ava Kratzer led the team with a great run at a warm, mid-day race, on the toughest course the team has run this year. Ava has been running consistently throughout her first four races of the season with less than a 30 second spread between them. She is in a great place as we continue training hard and look forward to the back half of our season.

Taking second for the team was Liberty Cook who smashed her previous PR by 45 seconds. This was only Liberty’s second race and she is quickly showing the natural talent she has. It amazes me how Liberty is able to perform like this while also starting as the varsity goalie for the Mifflin County HS Soccer Team. Amilia Coffey was just 8 seconds behind Liberty coming in third for the team. I am excited to see our top three finishing within 12 seconds of each other. We have been emphasizing the value of “packing up” and running together.

Abby Anderson and Lizzie Massie finished in the four and five spots and also finished within 8 seconds of each other. I encouraged Lizzie to hold onto Abby and believe having them run together helped Lizzie accomplish her third PR in a row. She is beginning to believe in herself! Reagan Sheetz was the other Lady Husky who posted another PR today as she continues in her debut cross country season.

The Lady Huskies will be back in action on Tuesday in a dual meet at State College.
