The Mifflin County Field Hockey team hosted a Mid Penn conference game against the Hershey Trojans at the Chapman Stadium Thursday evening.
The Huskies had a good start to an intense game as they got the ball in the Trojans 25 yard line early in the first quarter. Unfortunately the Huskies were unable to score or earn a penalty corner within the first quarter. The Trojans were able to get a goal in the first quarter to take the lead.
During the second quarter, the Trojans didn’t let up and scored another goal. The Huskies continued to work hard and were finally able to execute in the circle. Adalyn Amspacker received a pass from Bailey Neff to score the Huskies first goal of the game. The Huskies continued to work together and play an intense game of field hockey in the second quarter. The Huskies earned 3 penalty corners and 2 shots on goal within the second quarter.
In the third quarter, the Huskies did some great things as an attempt to tie the game. They made smart passes, stepped to balls, communicated, and played an impressive game of hockey. They earned another 4 penalty corners and served another 5 shots on the Trojans goal. They put every ounce of effort in their play, but were unsuccessful at getting the ball in the goal.
The fourth quarter was just as exhilarating as the third. The Huskies worked so hard, including earning a penalty corner in the last seconds of the game to try to get a goal in, but were unable to finish. The Huskies earned 3 more penalty corners and 4 more shots on goal during this quarter.
The Huskies JV team also fell to the Trojans, (4-2). The Trojans scored 4 goals against the Huskies. Regan Kenepp scored both goals for the Huskies.
