Mifflin County girls XC team falls despite strong effort
Sep 9, 2025

The Mifflin County Cross Country Lady Huskies faced off against Chambersburg and Carlisle on Tuesday afternoon. Both opposing teams held deep rosters and were able to defeat the Huskies 17-44 (Chambersburg) and 22-35 (Carlisle).

“Even though the team score may not show it, I am super proud of how hard the girls have been working. Amilia and Ava are consistently going out and running much faster times than last year,” said Mifflin County coach Neil Breneman. “They are strong and growing in confidence. They are setting themselves up well for a great remainder of the season. Lizzy Massie knocked another minute from her previous PR and is becoming a fierce competitor. I do not doubt that she laid it all out on the course today. Her effort was fantastic! Madison Baumgardner is getting back on track as well, posting her best time of the season.”

There is no rest for the weary as the Huskies will be back in action mid-day Friday when they will compete in the Spiked Shoe Invitational on Saturday.

Scoring for the Huskies

Amilia Coffey (21:17)

Ava Kratzer (21:38)

Lizzy Massie (23:39)

Madison Baumgardner (25:18)

Caroline Palopoli (26:03)
