BELLEFONTE – Despite not getting the win over visiting Bishop Guilfoyle, the Bellefonte football team showed it was going to be a force to be reckoned with as the fell 7-0.
Defensively, the Red Raiders shined the entire night.
Offensively, Bishop Guilfoyle was led on the ground by quarterback Justin Wheeler who went 9-for-15 for 86 yards and had 15 carries for 101 yards on the ground. When the buzzer sounded he finished with 152 total yards.
Jake Kissell followed with 74 yards on 19 carries in a tough contest. He also finished with 49 yards receiving. He also finished the contest with 123 yards total offense.
Tyson Lestochi finished with 43 yards receiving behind Kissell. In the end, Lestochi would finish with 90 total yards.
Defensively, Hayden Hosgood finished with a total of 10 tackles. Three were solo tackles while the other seven were assists. He also notched a sack in the contest.
Kissell finished with eight tackles, three of which were lone tackles while the five were assists. He also finished with one of the Maurader’s two sacks for the afternoon.
Lestochi finished with an interception of 11 yards.
The Red Raiders look to rebound this week as they play against a tough Clearfield squad.
