Dom’s Predictions/Preview Week 2 Mifflin County vs Northern York.
Aug 28, 2025

Mifflin County will welcome the Polar Bears of Northern York on Friday night at Donald Chapman lll Stadium as the Huskies will be hoping for better fortunes for a team that they lost to a season ago in two overtimes in a game where Mifflin County led by 20 points in the third quarter and would later be stunned by the Polar Bears 41-34.

This year the Polar Bears will have to travel to defend their win from last year another thing they will have to do is try to get into the win column for the first time this season as they were shut out by non conference opponent Spring Grove on Saturday.

Mifflin County will look to make it two straight wins to begin the season last time they started the season 2-0 was in 2023-24 season with wins over Central Mountain and Shikellamy Mifflin County outscored Central Mountain and Shikellamy 64-12.

The Huskies are coming off a dominant win shutting the Wildcats out 42-0 in their season debut at Donald Chapman Stadium lll at Kish Bank Field last Friday.

The Huskies defense last week was stellar only allowing 37 total yards on offense Mifflin County held Central Mountain to 11 passing yards on the ground the Wildcats could only muster out 26 yards.

Adan Daubert had a pair of sacks on the night Caden Breon,Gavin Herrington and Jake Knable had one sack against the Wildcats.Daubert of Mifflin County led the team in tackles as well.

Mifflin County collected two takeaways on defense Adrian Griffith recovered a fumble while Talon Hopple took a 41 yard pick six back for a touchdown in a game sealing play to complete the shutout.

Mifflin County offense

Mifflin County’s starter Chase Hartung completed 9/16 throwing for 117 yards and three touchdowns.

Jaxon Strohecker led in rushing with 55 yards on 11 attempts Coach Breon said to me after the game that he hopes to get the running game going a little bit more in the next game.

Mifflin County’s Landon Haigh led in receiving but was kept in check by the Wildcats defense but that opened up other weapons like Joel Beamer and Dodger Weaver both having caught touchdowns in the 42-0 shutout win Beamer had two touchdowns on 33 yards Weaver had one touchdown on 23 yards he scored on a 16 yard touchdown pass from Hartung in that game.

If Mifflin County can get production from their special teams again like they did last week, Beamer was 2-2 while Dodger Weaver set up a longer field for Central Mountain where they could not turn it into points.

Flip a dime this week you could see either quarterback for Northern both got a decent amount of playing time in week one Grady Bonin was the guy Mifflin County seen last year he was very productive he loves to use his legs to extend plays that could benefit the Huskies if they put the the same numbers on defense as they did last week Mason Barnett is the other option he hold an 0.455 completion percentage this year and is their passing quarterback.

(The Keys to the game week 2)

Mifflin County will need to win time of possession the Huskies this week will be going up against a talented defense and an average offense Bonin and Barnett will play an impact in controlling the Huskies defense and making the throwing lanes more difficult.

Mifflin County will need to get more out of the running game; they have depth in that position. If the Polar Bears make life difficult in the passing game they will need to have a good rushing attack.

Prediction Mifflin County vs Northern York

Mifflin County fell to Northern a season ago in two overtimes Mifflin County will have to maintain a lead this game will play in the Huskies hands with depth and less guys playing both sides of the football that will play a factor and should favor Mifflin County i still think it will be close with the talent and toughness on the other side it will come down to who’s stronger i think the Huskies bounce back Mifflin County will hold off the Polar Bears 21-14 to improve to 2-0.
