Mifflin County Volleyball faced off against the Thundering Herd of Carlisle Area High School in their home opener last evening.

Junior Varsity dropped the first set 19-25 before coming back and taking set two and three, winning 25-16 and 15-7. Jayda Thomas led the offense by dishing out nine assists and serving up three aces. Jovi Bush tallied four kills and Olivia Bedlyon contributed three. Briah Moore led the team in another solid defensive effort.

The Varsity team found themselves down early in each set and despite a solid effort, were unable to pull out a win. The Huskies lost the match in three sets, losing 20-25, 14-25 and 19-25. Emily Porch led the defensive effort with fourteen digs while Rylie Kahley added six. Kate Hartzler and Ella Hartzler led the offense with six and five kills respectively.

The team is back home next Wednesday taking on Palmyra. JV is set to start at 5pm and Varsity to follow at 6:15pm.
