It was a tough way to start the week for the young Bald Eagle Area girls soccer team as they fell to Bishop Guilfoyle 8-0.

The Marauders led 23-7 in shots on goal and in corners by a 4-1 margin.   

Bald Eagle goalie Cami Walker finished with eight saves while BG’s keeper Emily Steffan had seven.

“We faced a very good Bishop Guilfoyle team this evening. They moved the ball very well on us and we had some trouble clearing the ball and they capitalized on it,” said Bald Eagle Area coach Jared Moore. “We had some chances to score, but were unable to come away with anything unfortunately. The girls fought hard and never gave up. They put together some really nice drives.”

With the loss, the Lady Eagles fall to  0-2 overall and 0-1 in the LHAC.
