Port Royal, PA — The 19th Annual Living Legends Dream Race took place Saturday night at Port Royal Speedway and saw two drivers battle it out for the win who had never won the event in the past. Ashton Torgerson and Chase Dietz would tussle for the lead throughout the event, with Dietz being able to come out on top for the $20,000 win, and his second win at the track in 2025.

Ashton Torgerson and Chase Dietz would comprise the front row of the 30 lap A-main event with Torgerson taking the early advantage on the opening lap.

Torgerson would grow his lead to as much as 2.100 seconds over Dietz in second during the A-main event, with Dietz having to navigate lap traffic to attempt to close the gap with laps waning down the event.

With over half of the A-main completed, Dietz was reeling in Torgerson while battling with lapped cars. Dietz begin to peek to the inside of the 1A machine with 12 laps to go when the caution lights would come on around the race track for a slowing Steven Snyder Jr. in turn 4.

Once the accident was clear, the field would be reset with Torgerson leading the way.

On the ensuing restart, Torgerson would go to the low side of the first and second corner while Dietz would work through the middle to get to the outside to battle for the lead.

Dietz would power by the 1A for the lead off of turn two and would not look back.

Dietz would go on to win the A-main event, marking his 2nd career win at Port Royal Speedway in 2025 as well as for his career. The $20,000 payday also marked the biggest win for Dietz career in a 410 sprint car.

Ashton Torgerson would hold on for the runner up spot and Lance Dewease would charge from his 8th starting position to finish in third.

Jeff Halligan would earn the Ramsey’s Car Wash Hard Charger honors for going from 17th to 8th, and Michael Walter Jr would win the $1,000 J&S Classics Warrior Award.

In super late model competition, Gregg Saterlee would take the lead with 8 laps to go and would go on to win the Penske Racing Shocks super late model A-main.

Max Blair and Rick Eckert would make up the front row to start the main event with Blair taking the early advantage and Saterlee quickly getting to the runner up spot from third.

Blair and Saterlee would be the class of the field through the first 15 laps of the race with the top two cars having a 5-second margin between themselves and the third place running Rick Eckert.

However, with 8 laps to go, a puff of smoke would come out from behind the 111 machine of Max Blair, seeing his car slow to stop and bringing out the caution flag.

Blair’s race would end on the mechanical failure and Saterlee would inherit the lead.

Saterlee would power off the next restart and hold on to win the A-main event by over 2 seconds over Rick Eckert and Hayes Mattern.

Port Royal Speedway will be back in action on Friday, August 22nd with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series for a 2-day program.

The Rumble by the River will feature the Penske Racing Shocks super late models, the Zimmerman Truck Repair limited late models and the UMP modifieds on Friday night. It will then be followed on Saturday with the Rumble by the River finale paying $50,000 to the winner in the super late model A-main event. The UMP modifieds will return to support the Saturday program.
