The Mifflin County 13U All Stars couldn’t keep up with Atlantic Shore and fell 7-1 on Thursday at Old Bridge.
Atlantic Shore got on the board in the top of the first inning after Easton Lames singled down the right field line, Noah Gillespie walked, and Bobby Franchini singled down the right field line, each scoring one run.
Atlantic Shore added one run in the third after Gillespie grounded out.
Wyatt Foltz pitched four and one-third innings in relief for MIfflin County. The righty gave up five hits and three runs (one earned) while, striking out three and walking two. Kaden Peachey took the loss for MC. The starting pitcher went one-third of an inning, giving up three runs on one hit, striking out none and walking four. Logan Kallen opened the game for Atlantic Shore. The starting pitcher surrendered zero hits and one run over seven innings, striking out none and walking four.
Levi Anderson led MIfflin County with one run batted in.
Franchini and Gillespie were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Atlantic Shore. Bradon Mulligan led Atlantic Shore with three hits in three at bats. Michael Pepper collected two hits for Atlantic Shore in three at bats. Gillespie led Atlantic Shore with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, piling up seven walks for the game. Pepper stole two bases.
