LEWISTOWN – “Cause and Effect” proved to live up to its name Saturday as the Honorary Wrestling Federation was back at its new home at the Heritage Fire Company.
The show’s proceeds were donated to Paisley’s family. Paisley and family battle to fight her diagnosis of an autoimmune disorder.
The night proved to be an exciting one for the fans as there were twists and turns throughout the night, including some surprising special guests that locals remember quite fondly.
Up first, Debonair Kurt Blair went up against the Banana Man.
Banana started out with the advantage early on keeping Debonair caught in the corner. Alternating turnbuckles and elbow smashes. Numerous clothes lines by Banana man had Debonair in danger of being pinned.
But an eye rake changed the momentum.
But the Banana Man bounced back.
Late in the contest, Debonair hit Banana Man with a DDT but couldn’t get the pin. He continued with a neck breaker but still came up empty.
With the fans help, Banana Man took back the momentum once again with an overpowering backdrop followed by a sliding kick and the pinfall. Winner: Banana Man Brian Selfridge.
In a segment to preview a later match, part HWF owner Jason Havok and HWF president Phil Stamper locked horns on microphone. During their back and forth verbal battle, the stipulation came up that if the winner of the match Havok won he wanted to wrestle a Silks.
Out came the other part owner of the company Trista Silks. She gives the OK for the stipulation to be included in the match but cautioned Havok and his crew to watch out she might have something up her sleeve. To be continued…..
In the second match of the night, Sledge Gibson met up with Riot City’s Sicend.
Early in the match, Sicend threw himself like a projectile out of the ring catching Sledge by surprised and into the first row. But the advantage would be temporary as Sledge started to bounce back.
Both got back into the ring before being counted out as Sicend took the advantage as he worked Sledge down on the mat taken control and putting pressure on his hurt hand.
Sicend continue to work on it and forced Sledge down in the corner.
After trying a flying body press, Sicend was caught in midair as Sledge took back the advantage. All this despite being hurt and still trying to work out the pain in his damaged hand.
A Sledge backdrop had Sicend in trouble. A spine buster by Sledge got a two count before Sicend kicked out.
Sicend reached the corner and hit Sledge with a flying DDT almost getting a 2-count before Gibson put his foot on the ropes.
A slide under Sledge and the rollup gave Sicend the pinfall and victory.
Winner: Sicend
Match three proved to be an exciting one as Big Philly went up against fan favorite Ace Connel.
In their rematch from an earlier show, the tension between the two radiated through the crowd.
Big Philly took the early advantage trapping him into the different corners following with elbows.
That lit a match under Connel as he battled back and had control over Big Philly.
Philly had his moments as he was able to manhandle Ace through much of the match.
But Ace refused to give up despite the massive hits to the knees.
Connel took the big man down as he took his legs out from under him .
Both hit near falls.
Ace tried a flying body press but was caught in midair by Big Philly which resulted in Ace flying across the ring.
A big fist by Big Philly KO’ed Connel, as he would get the win evening their matches to one each.
In the fourth match that pitted Riot City’s Matt Wylde versus James Ford. It was a slobberknocker from the opening bell.
It was a back and forth battle with Ford taking the early advantage taking it to Wylde. Wylde tried to slow down the pace while going outside the ring.
Wylde used a distraction to take advantage and get the edge. But that quickly ended as James took back control.
But the veteran Wylde was able to catch James with a slam on the edge of the apron.
With a little help from the fans as a distraction, James was able to catch Wylde off guard.
James faced numerous chops and clotheslines before rallying to get himself back on his feet. After some hits to the face James was unphased as his anger took over sending his game to another level.
With James on the top rope, he was taken down by a cheap shot by Wylde’s valet.
That would lead to a suplex off the top rope and then a near fall as Ace tried to get the win. He proceeded with hitting James with a pile driver.
While trying for a second James reversed it into a pinning combination to get the pinfall and the win.
Winner: Edward James
Coming out of the Intermission, the first match up was the Pit Chick went up against Sam Street.
It was a back and forth battle to start things out but Sam Street started to take control as she used her weight against the Pit Chick.
In true fashion, Pit Chick put a running bulldog on Street which led to a 1-2-3 pin.
After the Pit Chick victory, wrestler Steve Steele came out for a surprise to the fans.
He came out to announce his retirement. Out came Orion to spoil Steve’s moment after his announcement. It led to a face-to-face stare down by the two. Orion clothesline Steele and Orion proceeded to add damage to his back. Orion left the ring with Steele getting up off the mat and chasing after. Steele gets up and chases Orion into the lockeroom.
In the sixth event of the night, Havok and Stamper finally locked up.
If Havok loses he will lose his 50.01 percent of the company.
Stamper hit Havok with a shoulder shiver off the ropes forcing Havok down to the mat.
With the help of the outside interference Stamper was thrown back into the ring as Havok took control.
Despite some heavy punches to Havok in the corner, the veteran Havok turned things around and caught Stamper in the corner, in the process sneaking an illegal choke hold on the president of HWF.
Havok continued to hold his own until trying for a flying forearm off the top rope. Stamper rolled out as Havok missed the shot. Stamper rolled up Havok for a two count but couldn’t get the pin. He then applied a head scissors to him trying to make him submit.
A low blow minutes later gave the veteran Havok the advantage and he ended the match via a submission hold with the help of the referee who turned out to be a Havok henchman. The referee caused Stamper the match.
After the match, the group of three continued to beat up on Stamper.
Havok addressed the crowd after the win. He now was gunning Silks.
Out came TRK staring through Havok. Silks walked to the ring and looks up at Havok. Havok said he was going after fellow owner Trista Silks and not TRK. The result sets up a battle at the next time out with Trista and Havok. It will be the first appearance in the ring as a wrestler in the battle of the HWF Owners.
Winner: Jason Havok
In the seventh match, Mason Martin went up against former HWF World Champion James Ford.
Despite many stalling tactics by Martin, Ford went right at Martin.
Martin continued to stall, complaining about the crowd, riling up the former champ.
Ford hit Martin with a running lariat. The move sent Martin out of the ring to try to slow down the match.
Ford had enough of his antics and came up behind Martin and sent him into the pole.
Martin caught Ford and went on to take control and got a nearfall. However, later in the match, Martin had his foot on the rope and escaped a nearfall. However, Ford continued his advantage keeping Martin down on the mat.
Martin picked up Ford and slammed him to the mat.
Ford rallied back to get the pinfall.
Winner: James Ford.
In the main event, the Golden Boys from Cleveland went up against the Tag Team Champions in the Sons of MIfflin County. Jimmy James RJ Johnsie.
After taunting the crowd, the Golden Boys exited the ring right after the bell rang.
The champs looked ready for business as the Golden Boys continued to stall.
RD Mosh started for the Sons while
Johnsie represented the Golden Boys.
Mosh had the early advantage while Johnsie was manhandled by the champs. A double leg drop led to a two count for the Sons but Johnsie was able to get out and tag to his partner James.
James tried to intimidate TRK with pokes to his chest. It only got Silks fired up. He hit James with barage of moves.
Mosh found himself on the back end of a couple of James drop kicks as the Golden Boys trapped him in the corner. Mosh tried to get to Silks for the tag but was stopped by Johnsie as the barage on Mosh continued. With the fans behind him Mosh tried to get his way back to his corner.
Mosh continued to take drop kicks and chops as the Golden Boys continued to have the momentum in the match, keeping Mosh stranded in his opponents side.
A double DDT by Mosh changed the momentum as Mosh made his way to the corner to tag Silks. He did just that as TRK came in and started to clean house. Both teams would be in the mat. A scoop slam by TRK got a 2-count.
In a flourish of action Silks accidentally kicked teammate Mosh.
Sills on the verge of being pinned was able to kick out.
TRK and Mosh double teamed James to get the victory.
After the match the Golden Boys attacked the Sons and then Havok and his crew came out.
Out came CCW and Seven Mountain legends Malcom King and RobNoxious to make the save! Both donning when Hell freezes over shirts! They cleaned house and cleared the ring from Havok and crew.
Winners: Sons of Mifflin County and HWF fans!
