MILROY – The Howard Hawks took advantage of Foxpro mishaps and used it to make short work, going five innings and winning 12-2 during a CCBL baseball game Tuesday evening.
The Predators combined for a total of 11 walks and had committed four errors throughout the game.
The Hawks scored first in the top of the first inning where Dylan Womer singled to right which brought home Bryce Greene.
But Foxpro responded with two runs of their own in the bottom half of the frame where Isaiah Kearns doubled in Jayden Smith before Evan Pupo drew a walk with the bases loaded to bring in Kearns making it 2-1.
Sadly that was the last time that the Predators scored for the rest of the game as during the top of the second, errors and walks began to take shape and Howard jumped all over that driving in five runs.
The Hawks added a few runs here and there, but during the top of the fifth inning, they scored four more runs which ultimately led them to the ten run rule victory.
A big part of that reason was pitcher Tyler Womer who went the distance and collected five strikeouts and five walks.
The Hawks were led at the plate by Bryan Greene who went 3-for-4 with an RBI while Dan Cole went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Dylan Womer, Logan Bernier, Jaden Jones and Gavin Borns each had a hit in the game.
For Foxpro, the Predators were led by Isaiah Kearns who went 2-for-3 with a double and a run batted in. Landen Eichhorn, Jayden Smith, Elliot Yetter and Tucker Triebold all had a hit in the game as well.
Howard will look to keep the winning ways going as the Hawks will host Baseball U on Friday.
Meanwhile, the Predators will look to bounce back and get back on the winning track as they will host the Spike Island Pirates today.
Best of luck to both teams!
Until Next Time!
