LEWISTOWN- In the second game of the evening, the MIfflin County 11Us needed just four innings to take home the District crown as they defeated Perry County 14-2.
Unlike the first game where hurler Caleb Peachey pitched the entire contest, the group gave three pitchers a chance to get some work in en route to the victory.
Starting for MC was Carter Long. He was replaced by Calvin Napikoski while rounding out the game was Micah Mathews. All combined to hold Perry County to only four hits on the evening.
Mifflin County pounded out nine hits and forcing seven walks on its way to capturing the win.
Highlighting the contest for Mifflin County was a 10-run second.
Chase Yoder led the MIfflin County bats posting two hits on the night, two runs and an RBI in the victory. Teammate Carter Long had a hit, two RBIs and two runs scored.
As the visitors, MIfflin County picked up a first inning run.
Caleb Peachey hustled out an infield hit to start things off.
After stealing second and third, Peachey was hit home on a sacrifice fly by Long.
However in the bottom of the inning the group would score twice to take the lead 2-1.
Deacon Magill started things off with a single into centerfield. He stole second and scored on a Cooper Rhodes RBI single to tie things at one. He later scored to give the Perry County crew the temporary lead.
It would be very temporary indeed as the Mifflin County bats rallied in the second to post a convincing 11-2 advantage.
From there they would keep the Perry County bats in check, posting the four inning victory in front of their home fans.
