Lewistown Stymied By Mcveytown

Lewistown couldn’t keep up with Mcveytown and fell 13-2 on Tuesday.

Mcveytown jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Shane Moist singled, scoring two runs, Landon Pecht grounded out, scoring one run, and T Shafer lined out, scoring one run.

Mcveytown scored five runs on six hits in the top of the sixth inning. Jett Powell grounded out, scoring one run, Jake Knable singled, scoring one run, Pecht singled, scoring two runs, and Shafer doubled, scoring one run.

Zyaire Tshudy stepped on the hill first for Lewistown. The starter allowed 10 hits and eight runs (seven earned) over five innings, striking out one and walking one. Easton Stonerook stepped on the bump first for Mcveytown. The hurler surrendered six hits and two runs (one earned) over four and one-third innings, striking out six and walking five.

Landon Bowen led Lewistown with three hits in three at bats. Lewistown were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Braiden Miller made the most plays with 11.

Mcveytown collected 16 hits in the game. Pecht and Moist were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in three runs for Mcveytown. Moist led Mcveytown with four hits in four at bats. Gatlin Kauffman, Knable, Carson Cherry, and Shafer each collected multiple hits for Mcveytown. Knable and Moist each stole multiple bases for Mcveytown. Mcveytown stole seven bases in the game.
