Bald Eagle Lady Eagles Impressive In Win Against Avonworth Varsity Antelopes

The Bald Eagle Area Eagles won big over Avonworth 8-2 on Monday.

A double by Sydney Thompson on a full count put Bald Eagle Area on the board in the bottom of the first.

The Lady Eagles extended their early lead with two runs in the bottom of the second thanks to RBI ground outs by Kendall Gavlock and Kailey Eckert.

Sierra Albright earned the win for the Eagles. The hurler surrendered six hits and two runs (one earned) over seven innings, striking out eight and walking one. Ali Linhart took the loss for the Antelopes. The starting pitcher went six innings, giving up eight runs (seven earned) on 10 hits, striking out three and walking five.

The Lady Eagles tallied 10 hits in the game. Eckert, Alexa Baney, and Thompson each collected two hits for Bald Eagle Area. Eckert, Gavlock, and Thompson each drove in two runs for Bald Eagle. Baney paced the Eagles with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, amassing five walks for the game. The Lady Eagles were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Eckert made the most plays with eight.
