Katelyn Bowman drove in four runs on three hits to lead Central Mountain past Mifflin County 12-4 on Monday. Bowman tripled in the seventh inning, scoring three runs, and singled in the first inning, scoring one.
The Wildcats won thanks in part to seven runs in the seventh inning. Piper Specht induced Rylan Andrews to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, Aubrey Eiler doubled, scoring three runs, and Bowman tripled, scoring three runs.
The Wildcats got on the board in the top of the first inning after Cirstyn Watson tripled down the right field line, and Bowman singled down the left field line, each scoring one run.
The Huskies tied the game in the bottom of the fifth thanks to a double by Ava Baker, and a single by Malaina Maxwell.
Central Mountain took the lead in the top of the sixth. Ava Doyle grounded out, scoring one run, to give the Wildcats the advantage, 5-4.
Camdyn Weaver stepped in the circle first for Central Mountain. The southpaw allowed five hits and four runs (three earned) over five innings, striking out two and walking one. Specht started the game for the Lady Huskies. The pitcher gave up 14 hits and 12 runs (11 earned) over seven innings, striking out two and walking three. Joslyn Shultz threw two innings of shutout ball for Central Mountain in relief. The left-handed pitcher surrendered zero hits, striking out none and walking none.
Central Mountain piled up 14 hits in the game. Shultz, Taylor Doyle, Watson, and Eiler each collected multiple hits for the Lady Wildcats. Bowman stole two bases. Central Mountain Varsity Wildcat stole five bases in the game.
Baker provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Mifflin County with two runs batted in. The first baseman went 1-for-3 on the day. Claire Sunderland, Jalee Bodtorf, Maxwell, Specht, and Baker each collected one hit for Mifflin County.
Central Mountain plays at home on Tuesday against State College in their next game.
