Pitching Impressive As Bald Eagle Beats Tyrone

Both teams were strong in the circle on Monday, but Bald Eagle defeated Tyrone 3-2. Sierra Albright started the game for the Lady Eagles and recorded 21 outs.

A single by Addisyn Burns put the Lady Eagles on the board in the bottom of the first.

Bald Eagle added one run in the second after Tyrone committed an error.

An error extended the Lady Eagles lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the third inning.

Tyrone scored two runs in the top of the fourth on a home run to left field by Layna Dibert.

Albright earned the win for Bald Eagle Area. The starting pitcher surrendered five hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out eight and walking two. Kaitlyn Rockwell took the loss for Tyrone. The starter went six innings, giving up three runs (one earned) on five hits, striking out three and walking one.

Burns went 2-for-2 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Bald Eagle Area were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Kailey Eckert had the most chances in the field with nine.

Dibert provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Tyrone with two runs batted in. The first baseman went 1-for-1 on the day. Rockwell, Ally McNelis, Sam Shaw, Dibert, and Grace Naylor each collected one hit for Tyrone. Tyrone turned one double play in the game.

Bald Eagle Area play at home on Tuesday against Mifflin County in their next game.
