Sadie Ripka collected three hits in four at bats, as Bellefonte defeated DuBois 5-3 on Thursday. Ripka hit an inside the park home run in the fifth inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the third inning.

The Lady Beavers got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Elliette Brewer walked, and DuBois scored on a wild pitch, each scoring one run.

A single by Jordan McGranor extended the Lady Beavers lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the third inning.

The Lady Raiders tied the game up in the top of the fifth thanks to two home runs. Bellefonte Varsity Lady Raiders tied the game at three on a home run to center field by Jaylee Lose.

Bellefonte l captured the lead, 5-3, in the top of the seventh after Riley Santostefano singled to center field, and Abby Herr walked, each scoring one run.

Herr pitched six innings in relief for the Lady Raiders. The reliever allowed seven hits and one run (zero earned) while, striking out nine and walking three. Alaina  Smith led things off in the circle for Bellefonte. The starter gave up one hit and two runs over one inning, striking out one and walking three. Ava Baronick opened the game for DuBois. The pitcher gave up eight hits and three runs over five innings, striking out five and walking one.

Bellefonte tallied 12 hits in the game. Lose provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led the Lady Raiders with two runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Taylor Brown and Ripka each collected three hits for Bellefonte.

Brewer led the Lady Beavers with one run batted in. The left-handed hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Haley Reed went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead DuBois in hits. The Lady Beavers had patience at the plate, piling up six walks for the game. Brielle Gray and Audrey Hale led the team with two bases on balls each. The Lady Beavers were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Hale had the most chances in the field with eight.

Bellefonte welcomes Greater Johnstown Varsity Trojans on Friday for their next game.
