State College Varsity Little Lions fell to Cumberland Valley 6-2 on Monday.
Cumberland Valley got on the board in the top of the third inning after Caden Lloyd grounded into a fielder’s choice, and Siddh Patel hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.
State College Varsity Little Lions scored one run in the bottom of the sixth on a solo home run to left field by Kellen Williams.
Micah LaPila hit a solo home run to left field in the top of the seventh for the Cumberland Valley.
Jude Scavone stepped on the mound first for State College Varsity Little Lions. The right-handed pitcher gave up five hits and four runs over four and one-third innings, striking out one and walking two. Braydon Shuttlesworth stepped on the hill first for Cumberland Valley. The hurler allowed four hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out six and walking two.
Jake Hall went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead State College Varsity Little Lions in hits. State College Varsity Little Lions turned one double play in the game. State College Varsity Little Lions didn’t commit a single error in the field. Sebastian Rhoades had the most chances in the field with seven.
Cumberland Valley accumulated nine hits in the game. Eli Bryant and LaPila were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Cumberland Valley. LaPila went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Cumberland Valley in hits.
