East Juniata lost to Greenwood 5-3 on Friday.
The Wildcats got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after A J Adlon tripled down the right field line, and Gavin Oburn singled to center field, each scoring one run.
Kelton Bonnell hit a solo home run to center field in the top of the fifth for the Tigers.
Jacob Anderson earned the win for the Wildcats. The righty allowed five hits and three runs over six innings, striking out six and walking three. Trent Price took the loss for East Juniata. The righty went five and two-thirds innings, surrendering five runs (two earned) on eight hits, striking out four and walking one. Adlon earned the save.
Nathan Carolus went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the Tigers in hits. Hunter Shafferman, Price, and Bonnell each drove in one run for the Tigers. East Juniata stole six bases in the game.
Adlon and Oburn were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Greenwood while hitting back-to-back. Adlon provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led the Wildcats with two runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Vance Moyer stole two bases.
East Juniata welcomes Halifax on Tuesday for their next game.
