Milroy outsted Reedsville 8-5 on Sunday at Armagh Memorial Field.
A dropped third strike by Reedsville put Milroy on the board in the top of the first.
Jude Zook grounded out, which helped Reedsville tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.
A single by Karter Kanagy gave Reedsville the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the second.
Thad Gerwick singled down the left field line, which helped Milroy tie the game at two in the top of the third.
A single by Wyatt Parkes gave Reedsville the lead, 3-2, in the bottom of the third.
Milroy jumped back into the lead in the top of the fifth inning after Gerwick grounded out, and Jaren Kenny singled to left field, each scoring one run.
Milroy committed an error, which helped Reedsville tie the game at four in the bottom of the sixth.
Milroy made the score 8-4 in the top of the seventh after an error scored two runs, Justice Ritchey singled, scoring one run, and Noah Bunch induced Cohen Ritchey to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.
Blaze Shreffler earned the win for Milroy. The righty allowed seven hits and five runs (two earned) over six and one-third innings, striking out eight and walking one. Camden Kauffman took the loss for Reedsville . The hurler went two-thirds of an inning, giving up zero runs on zero hits, striking out one and walking none. Jamieson Parkes stepped on the hill first for Reedsville. The starting pitcher gave up zero hits and two runs over two innings, striking out four and walking seven. Chase Krepps appeared in relief for Milroy.
Karl Shirey, Gerwick, Shreffler, Ritchey, Kenny, and Caeleb Phillips each collected one hit for Milroy. Gerwick and Kenny were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Milroy . Milroy had patience at the plate, accumulating nine walks for the game. Krepps and Gerwick led the team with two walks each. Shreffler stole two bases. Milroy turned one double play in the game.
Parkes went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Reedsville in hits. Caden McClure, Parkes, Kanagy, and Zook each drove in one run for Reedsville.
Milroy welcomes Lewistown on Wednesday for their next game.
