Siglerville defeats Rothrock Gold in 4

MCVEYTOWN – The Siglerville Orioles got a head early and never looked back as they came out victorious over Rothrock Gold by the final score of 14-0 during a Cal Ripken Jr Minor division baseball game Thursday evening.

The Orioles’ offense got hot quickly, scoring four runs in the opening inning of the game. The first run of the evening came from a Giovanni Ramos single that brought home Sawyer Druckenmiller. Knox Wagner scored by stealing home before Jack Wagner drew a bases loaded walk that scored Gunner Reed and then a double from Karter Gieza that brought in Giovanni Ramos to complete the four run inning.

Siglerville came back for more in the top of the second inning adding on four more runs in the frame which included a two run single by Knox Wagner.

The Orioles continued to fly offensively in the top half of the third where they got RBI singles from Sawyer Druckenmiller, Knox Wagner and Karter Gieza as well as an RBI walk by Briar Warner.

Briar Warner also brought home two more runs in the fourth inning after reaching on an error.

Despite the struggles to bring in runs, Rothrock Gold did have a big hit in the game which was from Layden Yoder who turned it into a double.

Pitching wise for Siglerville, Knox Wagner collected a total of seven strikeouts before handing the ball over to Sawyer Druckenmiller who finished the fourth and final inning off with three strikeouts.

Rothrock Gold was led on the mound by Evan Moist who had a strikeout, Maddyn Sunderland who had two strikeouts and Triton Moist collected three strikeouts for the evening.

Rothrock Gold will look to bounce back on Tuesday as they will travel to face Burnham while Siglerville will also be on the road as the Orioles will play against Kovalchik over at Kish Park on Thursday.
