Holidaysburg defeated Penns Valley Area  13-3 on Wednesday thanks in part to seven runs in the second inning.

A double by Brady Steiner put Holidaysburg on the board in the top of the first.

Holidaysburg scored seven runs on seven hits in the top of the second inning. Gavin Bell singled, scoring one run, Josh Banks was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Steiner lined out, scoring one run, Jay Albarano doubled, scoring one run, D Miller doubled, scoring one run, and EJ Ulery singled, scoring one run.

Gavin Neideigh pitched four innings in relief for the Rams. The left-handed pitcher allowed six hits and five runs (four earned) while, striking out three and walking five. Colby Miller started on the hill for Penns Valley. The righty surrendered nine hits and eight runs over two and one-third innings, striking out three and walking two. Ulery stepped on the mound first for Holidaysburg. The pitcher gave up eight hits and three runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out six and walking four.

Parker Feltenberger drove the middle of the lineup, leading  the Rams with two runs batted in. The number three hitter went 3-for-4 on the day. Riley Winkelblech collected two hits for Penns Valley in four at bats.

Holidaysburg accumulated 15 hits in the game. Robbie Mullin, Holidaysburg’s number seven hitter, led the team with three hits in four at-bats. Steiner and Ulery each drove in two runs for Holidaysburg. Miller, Bell, and Ty Szynal each collected multiple hits for Holidaysburg. Holidaysburg had a strong eye at the plate, amassing seven walks for the game. Banks and Cayden Gibbons led the team with two free passes each.

Penns Valley  will travel to Forest Hills for their next game on Friday.
