Bellefonte Makes A Run Against Bishop McCort  But Falls Short

Bellefonte’s effort to come back from down five runs in the third inning came up just short, as they fell 6-5 to Bishop McCort  on Wednesday. The Red Raiders closed the gap by scoring on a , a double, and a single.

The Crushers got on the board in the bottom of the second inning after Lucas Turner hit a solo home run to center field, Daelon Britt drew a walk, scoring one run, and Erik Radkowski doubled, scoring two runs.

Bishop McCort  added to its early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Turner doubled to center field, and Angelo Gallucci singled down the left field line, each scoring one run.

Bradyn Jarvis earned the win for the Crushers. The starter allowed five hits and four runs over five innings, striking out four and walking five. Carsen Henry took the loss for Bellefonte. The hurler went three innings, allowing six runs on eight hits, striking out two and walking one.

Quentin Crouthamel led the Red Raiders with two runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. The left-handed hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Evan Mattern paced Bellefonte with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, piling up six walks for the game. Mattern stole two bases.

Bishop McCort accumulated 10 hits in the game. Jonathan Delia led Bishop McCort  with three hits in three at bats. Turner and Radkowski each drove in two runs for the Crushers. Bishop McCort turned one double play in the game. The Crushers were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Eli Zasadni made the most plays with eight.

Bellefonte will play at home on Friday against State College Varsity Little Lions in their next game.
